We know, it can be confusing. Here's the deal:
When you sign up for a no-term plan with Zeronet, you'll get a router to use with your service. We ask that you pay a $59.99 bond when you sign up. This is just a way to make sure that the router gets returned to us in good condition when you cancel your service.
If you return the router in good condition within 14 days of canceling your service, we'll refund your bond. If you keep the router or don't return it, we'll charge you $40.*
We know that not everyone wants to keep their router after they cancel their service and we think this is a great way to ensure hardware gets used again and not stored in a hall cupboard with the old fax machine!
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
- The bond is payable for our included router when you sign up for any no-term plan.
- We charge $14.99 up-front for Delivery.
- You may choose not to receive our included router in which case, you will not be charged a bond at checkout. Be sure you know how to configure your router with Zeronet's connection settings.
- The bond will be refunded when you return the router in good condition within 14 days of the service ending. Good condition is considered intact with cables, working as new, but maybe needs a good clean! Original boxes and cable ties aren't required but if you send them back as well rather than discarding, we'll be very happy.
- You can purchase the router for $40. Simply don't return it within 14 days!
We hope this helps to clarify what the router bond is all about. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
*Our supplied routers cost $99.99 to purchase.
