This guide will help clarify the essential lights on your router and how to resolve the main issues they indicate.
Power
If this light is red, orange, or off, the router is not receiving power. Please ensure the power cable is connected correctly and the power switch is turned on.
Internet
The icon often looks like a globe. A red/orange light indicates that the router is not receiving an internet connection from your ONT. Check the ONT's LAN1/GE1 light, as it will typically be turned off if this connection has broken.
We recommend disconnecting and reconnecting the ethernet cable that links the router and ONT.
Wireless Broadcasting
The icon often looks similar to the Wi-Fi icon on your computer. A solid green light commonly means it is broadcasting, but no devices are connected. A flashing green light means it is connected to devices and transferring data. The router is not broadcasting a Wi-Fi signal if the light is turned off.
If restarting the router does not fix this, you will need to log in to your router and make sure the wireless broadcast is enabled.
LAN
These will often correspond with the ethernet ports on the back of the router and will light up when an ethernet cable is connected.
If there is a cable connected but no light on the router, you should disconnect and reconnect the cable at both ends. If that doesn't work, we recommend replacing the ethernet cable.
